Luke, a first-grade student at Gwin Elementary School, won the first-ever Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama Kids Marathon T-Shirt Contest. Kids across Alabama were invited to submit drawings that combined the Kids Marathon with our country’s upcoming 250th anniversary. Luke’s design was selected as the winning entry from submissions across the state, and his artwork was featured on more than 2,500 race shirts worn during the marathon. During a special ceremony, Luke was surprised with the big news in front of his classmates. He also received $100 for his winning design.
