Hoover High School graduate Rotimi Kukoyi, now a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has been named one of 32 students to the American Rhodes Scholar Class of 2026. He was chosen from a group of 965 candidates who were nominated by their colleges and universities. He will begin his studies at Oxford in October. Rotimi graduated from Hoover High School in 2022 and has since been named a Truman Scholar and senior class president. During his time at Hoover, he was a captain of the varsity soccer team, appeared on Jeopardy! Teen Tournament, and received the Finley Award for character. He was accepted to more than 15 universities and received $2 million in scholarship offers. He intends to pursue a career in public health
