Hoover City Schools celebrated various accomplishments at a recent board meeting by honoring students, educators, leaders, and community members.
- Gifted Education Month: Special thanks to Emily Fogleman, Jessica Edwards, and Sydni Taylor for helping recognize Gifted Education Month across Alabama. HCS serves approximately 800 students in enrichment and gifted programs and is grateful for the teachers, coordinators, counselors, and school leaders who support students every day.
- State Recognition: Congrats to Emily Dunleavy, named District IV's nominee for Alabama Assistant Principal of the Year. HCS is proud of her leadership and commitment to students, staff, and families.
- State Champs: Way to go, Hoover High School E-Sports Team, on winning the Super Smash Bros State Championship, sweeping the finals 3-0 under the leadership of Hunter Curtis.
- Board Appreciation & Community Impact: During Board Appreciation Month, HCS thanked Board of Education members for their service, leadership, and dedication to our students and schools. HCS also honored the legacy of Steve Korson, whose friends donated $1,200 in his honor to support the RC3 Culinary Program.
