Sixth-graders at Cherokee Bend Elementary held a memorial breakfast to honor educator Rick Hedrick, who spent nearly 30 years at Cherokee Bend and passed away in 2025. Mr. Hedrick guided more than 3,000 students through the Fair Oaks Adventure Curriculum (FOAC), which he helped start. FOAC was designed to support physical education, counseling, and enrichment programs and emphasizes outdoor, hands-on learning to enhance a positive school climate. The breakfast was led by students, who served teachers and staff.
