Piper Boss, a junior at Helena High School, won the Innovation Award from YouthServe Birmingham for her nonprofit organization, The Bright Brick Project, which collects new and gently used LEGOs to donate to foster children. YouthServe, a youth leadership organization in the metro region, recently held its 2026 Youth In Service Awards to recognize community service work being done by youth in Alabama.
