2025 Best of the 'Ham nomination toolkit

Success in Bham Family's Best of the 'Ham contest starts here

Our inaugural Best of the 'Ham contest is almost underway! What is Best of the 'Ham? It's a chance for our readers, your clients, and the public at large to determine their favorites in over 220 categories. Categories are broken down into 8 groups: arts + entertainment, automotive, beauty, education + activities, food + beverages, health + wellness, home + garden, and shopping + services. There are two phases: from March 1 through April 1, nominations are taken for all categories. Anyone can nominate their favorites in any or all categories. After nominations are closed, the top 5 most-nominated entries move to a voting round from April 14-May 19. The winner in each category is announced in the July issue of Bham Family magazine and shortly afterward on bhamfamily.com and on our social channels.

We have put together a "nomination toolkit" to help you maximize your chances of making it to the voting round.

HOW TO GET NOMINATIONS

  1. Ask for them: We created graphics that you can use on Facebook, Instagram, or X, that drive your followers to nominate you. In the text of the post, be sure to be specific about which categories you want them to nominate them for, and point them to www.BestOfTheHam.com to cast their nominations for you (anyone can make a nomination, and they can make them once per day during the entire nomination period). Good news: you can also use any of these graphics on your website if you wish. Be sure to place one in a prominent position so your customers see it, and then link back to : www.BestOfTheHam.com so they can easily access the ballot.
  2. Send reminders: Post regularly on your social media accounts, asking your followers to nominate your business. Use our free social media graphics (below) and provide this link: : www.BestOfTheHam.com
  3. Repeat: Send at least three emails to your database. Recommended dates:
  • March 1: Nominations begin
  • March 12: Friendly reminder to make nominations
  • March 26: Last call — nominations end April 1
  1. Speak up: Tell your customers which categories you want to be nominated in. Click here to see the full list of categories, and make it a priority to ask your customers to nominate you.
  2. Let us help: Use our downloadable graphics (below). They are pre-formatted and labeled for the appropriate platform. (By using our images you agree to the following: These images may not be altered in any way, such as adding your logo or additional wording. The Best of the 'Ham logo may not be used without permission. Winners and finalists in each category will be supplied with logos labeling them as such, to be used in their marketing).
